Our Story
The Tolerant was born on a simple premise: what connects us matters more than what divides us. Every story we tell starts with a question: what does this look like from the eyes of different people across EU countries? We cover the issues that shape our life across the continent: democracy, migration, climate, housing, culture... we track what happens in institutions, but our focus is on the people impacted by the decisions.

Through the EU Law Monitor, we dive into the complexity of European legislation and policy to make it more accessible and understandable to everyone who lives in Europe.
However, Europe is not only Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg and Frankfurt. It is twenty-seven countries, hundreds of languages, and an enormous shared project. The Tolerant exists to find the common threads without flattening the differences.
The Tolerant was founded by Ricardo Perez-Solero, with the editorial support of journalist Laura Villadiego. We are independent from any media conglomerate, organisation or political party.
